Step Into the Scaling Era: HBD Presents Digital-Intelligence-Driven AM Solutions at Formnext 2026
Francoforte, Germania — The gap between prototype and mass production has long challenged the additive manufacturing industry. As digitalization redraws the boundaries of traditional manufacturing, “single-piece customization” and “batch production reliability” are no longer an either/or choice.
HBD is pleased to announce its participation at Formnext 2026, held November 17–20 in Frankfurt, Germany, under the theme:
“Digital-Intelligence-Driven: Embracing the Scaling Era of Additive Manufacturing.”
At the show, HBD will systematically demonstrate how medium- and large-format metal additive manufacturing evolves from complex part forming into reliable, automated production — moving from concept to industrial practice and providing core support for manufacturing upgrades.
Live Machine Demonstrations : HBD 400 — HBD Guangchi II (Beam-Shaping Technology)
An industrial flexible manufacturing platform built for batch production. Powered by self-developed Guangchi II technology, the system enables rapid switching between Gaussian and shaped beam profiles within a single build job.
- Gaussian modedelivers high resolution and good surface quality for fine-feature areas such as thin walls, flow channels, and appearance surfaces.
- Ring-beam modeoptimizes energy distribution, helps improve melt pool stability, and supports higher layer thickness for bulk solid regions — improving throughput while maintaining high part density.
With a 6-laser configuration and the High-Performance Galvanometer Scanning System, the HBD 400 delivers consistent, repeatable results for medium-to-large parts across aerospace, automotive, tooling, and consumer electronics.

HBD 200 — High-Precision Printing Platform
Engineered for high dimensional accuracy and excellent as-built surface quality. With its fine laser spot size and dual-laser configuration, the HBD 200 enables high-precision printing of intricate metal components, including copper-alloy thermal management devices with fine internal channels and complex geometries.
Typical applications include medical orthopedics, consumer electronics housings, precision thermal management components, and fine industrial parts — where tight tolerances and reduced post-processing help lower downstream finishing costs.
Self-Developed Ecosystem & Application Portfolio
Beyond the machines, visitors can explore HBD’s in-house ecosystem:
- High-Performance Galvanometer Scanning System
- Proprietary alloy development and material solutions
- Intelligent process and control software
Combined with application cases spanning aerospace, automotive, thermal management, oil & gas, consumer electronics, professional sports, heavy industry, robotics, dental, and medical orthopedics — HBD presents a portfolio of new materials, processes, technologies, and equipment for scalable production.
